What makes it important though is having something with purpose and passion for myself. Academia and full-time marketing work were competitive, challenging work environments that exhausted me and stressed me out. Starting my own business empowers me to control my time and help people in the best way I can.

Committing to My Business

Cheryl’s program is insightful for its ability to show us how there’s no right or wrong approach to success. Everyone has the ability to start their own business, but what the Thought Leader Club does is establish the motivation, the self-confidence to move forward with your plan in a way that fits you. It’s about confronting uncomfortable feelings and being able to move past them in a constructive way that builds confidence and doesn’t get you hung up on barriers or mindsets that may have blocked you in the past.

There’s No Right or Wrong Way to Build My Business

Cheryl is great at working through the logic of irrational, self-critical thoughts.

Cheryl’s approach resonates because it’s talking about the whole person rather than the numbers. My perspective is she sees success as something that builds outward from a strong inner foundation of self-belief whereas a lot of business coaches I feel would be looking for success from a spreadsheet.

Cheryl also notes all the things we’re doing well. She wants to make sure you recognize progress by writing out all the things you’re great at, talking and writing those things out via screen share on coaching calls. She gives you the fire and determination that all entrepreneurs need in their early days to keep going.

I really appreciate Cheryl’s coaching style and her ability to push her clients in uncomfortable directions without an “in your face” business attitude. People don’t want some artificial “we’re going to crush our numbers” coach. They want someone who’s going to connect with them, meet them where they are at and be able to confront their demons without feeling guilty or depressed when they come to their desk to do the real work that gets them to their goal.

Cheryl knows how to ask the right questions to confront your demons in a way that moves you forward without getting in your own way.

Her approach occurs as a dialogue through worksheets, the slack group and group meetings that open us up to what other people are struggling with and how different challenges in different businesses with different goals can come together. When people collaborate, they find a way through together and Cheryl is the glue that brings people through to big insights.

Cheryl really encourages people to see their courage, be brave and take initiative. People see your story and they’re inspired by the strong decisions you’ve made in life and how your own business has been a success for you. I’m inspired as well. You provide a way forward.

Words cannot even describe how emotional I was at Matthew’s wedding. I did NOT expect to cry but I bawled the entire ceremony. It was both beautiful and whimsical at the same time
